The Gloucester District Historical Society Inc operates the Gloucester Museum, a collection of photographic records, memorabilia and archival material. The exhibits date back to 1826 when Gloucester & surrounding towns were named by the Australian Agricultural Company’s Agent Robert Dawson soon after his arrival.
Browse through the Pioneer’s Gallery, military memorabilia, aboriginal artefacts, gold mining hsitory, geological specimens, heritage domestic items and much more.
We are noted for our informative tours around town for visiting coaches to the Museum which take approx 1 hour highlighting Gloucester’s history.
We have friendly staff on hand to assist in providing a most enjoyable experience down memory lane for a small entry fee.
