Picnic spots

Gloucester has an enviable selection of scenic parks for picnics, walks, events, family fun time, group celebrations in the open air, or just a doze under a shady tree.

Many new residents have fallen in love with Gloucester at one or more of these beautiful spots, so be careful… you may just end up as neighbour!

In town:

Billabong Park is a green and lovely space right in the centre of town on Denison Street. Buy some lunch in town and then relax in the park and enjoy your meal. Across the wobbly cable bridge (the kids love it!) you’ll find a skatepark, an awesome kid’s playground, bike riding training zone, plus a large shelter with barbecues that’s suitable for larger groups.

Gloucester District Park is the jewel in the crown of Gloucester’s many parklands! There are many spots here to enjoy a picnic under a shady tree by the side of the serene Gloucester River.

Out of town:

There are many places around the splendid Gloucester region for your country picnic, some popular, some secret. For the full list pick up the Picnics brochure at Gloucester Visitor Information or download it here
