Listen to original bush poetry in a cattleyard arena

Top things to do Gloucester Barrington Tops

Bush poetry is verse with regular rhyme and rhythm, best heard recited rather than read.  It can be long or short but it always tells a story with a distinct and satisfying conclusion. Bring a comfy cushion, your esky and supper for an event like no other in Gloucester: original bush poetry by award winning poets in the all-Aussie arena of the cattle saleyard stands.

In 2017 you’ll hear Bill Kearns, the “Master of Bull”, plus our local bush poets Claire Reynolds, Gabby Colquhoun and Wyatt Hall. The talented Bowden Brothers, Gloucester’s own country music stars, will provide pre-show entertainment and music for the interval. Pre-show entertainment starts 6.00pm with poets onstage at 7.00pm.
